The Son of Demeter arrives..

[Jacob Adams]

Jacob listened intently as Nikki explained that the arena was the place for fighting/training. Jacob figured that the children of Ares would probably spend most of their time there,training or just defeating weaker campers for fun. Nikkie then explained that there was a forest.which housed many monsters. Jacob made a mental note of not entering that area with a weapon and shield. Next,Nikkie explained the volleyball court that they had passed earlier. Nikkie mentioned that the daughters of Aphrodite spent most of their time there. Jacob smirked,he'd definitely spend some time there.... Nikkie then went on to explain the many miles the camp stretched and how the bow and arrow was her signature weapon (as it is for most children of Apollo)along with a throwing knife. Nikkie also explained that dinner was when a conch was sounded in the afternoon. After Nikkie had explained most of the features of camp, Jacob decided to speak up,'' Is there anywhere else important?''

Nikkie squinted at the sky as she thought about Jacob's question. "No, none that come to mind. But as you get a feel for the camp you'll begin to order the places into how important you think they are. So something that is important to say, the Hermes kids, may be the last thing on my list of importance. You know how hings are right?" she turned slightly to look back at them. "Alright shall we continue?" Nikkie asked, and without waiting for an answer took off at a brisk walk.

Jacob laughed at how urgent Nikkie was to get on with the tour, so he immediately quickened his pace again to keep up with her. As the three walked beside each other, Jacob kept thinking,{How fun is this place},{Are there any other children of Demeter?}, {I wonder if the Gods ever visit}, {I haven't seen any Aphrodite girls yet}, Jacob blushed after that thought.

Nikkie could feel that the two newbies fell in step beside her so she didn't stop. She showed them the amphitheater and explained that plays and music was there, then she moved on farther to the climbing wall. She warned them to be careful when they climbed it. There were mini earthquakes, rocks falling from the top and lava poured over the edge at unexpected times. "Put I'm pretty sure no one has been seriously injured or killed on it," she added in a cheerful tone. She then went over to the river and jumped across it using the rocks sticking out of the water to help her passage. She pointed out the mess hall to them since they were so eager to know where it was and then trotted off. She stopped at the cabins. "So this is where we live. That's my cabin over there," she pointed to the cabin with a sun disk above the door frame. "Ah, Demeter's must be that one right there," she pointed to one on the right before pointing to one in the center of the 'U', "That one is Zeus'. If you want to stop here and continue the tour later we can, or we can continue it right now."

Charlotte looked interested with the Zeus cabin, but she waved her hand. "I'll go on. It doesn't look like anyone's in there, and I'm more of an extrovert person."

Jacob quickly shook of the blush he had, and continued to follow Nikkie. Nikkie went on to show them the camp's amphitheater, a place where they had plays and performed music. After, she showed them a climbing wall. Nikkie explained that they trained here too, except that mini earthquakes happened, rocks fell from the top, and lava poured out over the edge, all at unexpected times. Nikkie chuckled a little,and said that no one had been seriously injured or killed. Jacob laughed nervously as he looked at a camper get his shirt singed by some lava. Next, Nikkie pointed at a building nearby, and explained it as the Mess Hall. Jacob nearly cried as he thought of all the food he would be eating there. Afterwards, Nikkie took them to a bunch of cabins formed in a U shape. She explained them as the cabins where the campers were sorted into. Jacob's eyes drifted over to a cabin that had real grass growing on the roof, and tomato vines decorating the walls. Nikkie confirmed that cabin as Demeter's cabin, then she pointed to a large cabin in the middle. Nikkie explained that it was the Zeus Cabin. Jacob smirked, just like Zeus to have the best looking cabin. Nikkie suggested that they could finish their tour later, and check out their new cabins. As Charlotte opted to leave, Jacob noticed the cabin that Nikkie had introduced as her's. The Apollo cabin had a sun disk above the door frame.''Wow'' Jacob said as the disk gleamed in the disk gleamed in the sunlight. ''That disk is almost a pretty as you'' Jacob exclaimed as he glanced at Nikkie. Seconds later, Jacob blushed as realized that he had said his thoughts out loud.

"Alright!" Nikkie cheered. She could continue talking with them and showing them around her home. She turned to leave when she heard what Jacob said. She was then glad her back was turned because she was sure her face was as red as her hair. She took a moment, hoped her face turned back to its normal color before turning back around and smiling. "Nah, it's better. You should see it when the sun is setting, it'll reflect the sun and the sunset and sunrise beautifully. Now, shall we go on?" Nikkie turned around again and resisted the temptation to touch her ears to see if they were warm. He was just joking with you, don't over react. Oh great, me not over react is an impossibility. "This is the arena here, most often the Ares kids are here. But it isn't just the Ares kids who love to fight there are also kids in other cabins that spend most of their time here. Moving on," she kept up the speed walk that she had earlier and then pointed to the forges and armory. "The Hephaestus kids spend most of their time here. But even so I'd say they are our best fighters, just don't tell the Ares kids that."

(OCC: Hey Sawyar, the cabins are actually now in an omega shape because after the second titan war the camp added on cabins for the minor gods.)

Charlotte strolled along behind Nikkie, gasping with amazement at the perilous ‘climbing wall’ and looking hungrily at the mess hall. Then Nikkie showed them the omega shape of the many cabins. Charlotte craned her neck to get a glimpse of her own cabin one and then follow Nikkie’s gaze to the Demeter cabin and then Nikkie’s own cabin. They were just getting ready to go when Jacob made his, “That disk is almost as pretty as you” comment. Charlotte quickly maneuvered herself into a position where she could see Nikkie’s red face, and then she turned to Jacob, whose face was equally red. Charlotte couldn’t help cracking up. “You two,” Charlotte gasped out. “Are completely HILARIOUS!!!” Still chuckling uncontrollably, Charlotte listened to Nikkie’s suave change of subject. “I don’t suppose we could go and check the arena out more in detail?” She asked, smiling. “I love to fight - in general. That’s probably the only thing that doesn’t mark me off as a not-so-child-of-Zeus kind of person.”

Nikkie whirled around, "Yes we may!" she trotted back the way they came and stopped at the arena door. "Alright, here we go," She opened the door and strode in. "Okay, as I said this is where everyone practices whether it's with a bow, sword, knives, spear, staff, mace, ninja stars. No I'm joking on that last part, but there are several types of weapons. So, often if there is no one around the dummies are setup, and if you need any more you can either find them around the arena or maybe in one of the closets. As you can tell the floor is sand, so people won't get to hurt if they fall down. And maybe make it harder to move thus you build up stamina. Eh, what do I know?" Nikkie shrugged her shoulders.

OOC: Do you think Nikkie and Jacob should like each other? It's your choice.

OOC: I changed Jacob's weapon to a bow and arrows.



Jacob's face stayed red for a little while after he had accidentally stated his thoughts. When Nikkie turned her face for an unknown reason, Jacob hoped that she wasn't secretly laughing at him. Jacob also noticed Charlotte maneuver herself so that she was looking at Nikkie. Seconds later, she glanced at him. Now Jacob was sure that they were secretly laughing at him, so he switched his sight to the ground. Eventually, they reached an arena where Nikkie explained that any campers who wanted to practice fighting would spar there. Afterwards, they passed a building that Nikkie explained housed the forges and armory. Nikkie also explained that the children of Hephaestus worked on weapons and armor there. Charlotte then spoke up, and asked if they could check out the arena more in detail. Turning around, they backtracked to the arena, and walked through the doors. Jacob frisked the large arena and said ''I don't really like to fight because I only use a bow and arrow , so i'll just sit this one out. Turning to the rows where the audience sat, Jacob strode over and sat down. ''I'll be over here if you need me'' he yelled. He then started thinking, I knew I shouldn't have said that out loud , Nikkie will probably never think of me in that way anyway , sighing he put his head between his hands and looked down, distraught.

ooc: sure I don't mind, though she is a little dense

"Just because you use a bow and arrow doesn't mean you can use that as an excuse not to fight, it just means you don't get right in the center of things, which is a heck of a lot safer I might add," Nikkie shook her head. "I mean if you don't like the bow switch to a melee weapon, or carry one with you, like me," Nikkie took the knife from its sheath. "Plus, if you run out of arrows you now have a better chance of surviving the fight. Speaking of which, why don't we have a fight? Charlotte I'll get to see some of your moves and I might give you some pointers. And you can do some target practice!" Nikkie grinned at both Charlotte and Jacob. Seen as how that is what I was supposed to do in the first place might as well get it done now.

As soon as they entered the arena, Charlotte seemed to be flying all over the place. Swooping here and there, barely missing several dummies, nearly crashing into the ceiling, the only problem she had was landing. “SORRY!” She yelled out as she almost whacked Nikkie’s head off. “I’M NOT QUITE USED TO THIS YET!” Then Charlotte executed a little dive towards the bleachers and turned at the last moment, skidding into the sand. “Plaugh.” She spat out a mouth full of sand and rolled over. “Sorry,” she apologized again. “I thought I would do better in an open space. But hey,” she said eagerly, catching Nikkie’s couple of sentences, “We should totally fight!” Charlotte whipped out her tiny light blue pocket knife and flicked the ‘knife’ side open. Immediately, it expanded into a perfectly balanced double edged sword. Then she twisted the face of her watch and it seemed to inflate into a large, light shield. Putting them both down, she grabbed a hair-band out of her pocket and tied up her long curly blond hair into a perky ponytail. “It gets in the way all the time,” she explained. Then Charlotte picked up her sword and shield again and took a battle stance. “C’mon Jacob! Don’t be a party pooper!” Her cloudy grey-turquoise eyes grew large and pleading. “I haven’t had a good three-way fight in years!” As he sat, seemingly in indecision, Charlotte impatiently grabbed his arm and pulled him to a standing position while giving Jacob an electric shock. “Oops… Sorry.” She sounded apologetic, but still let a note of eagarness into her voice.

Nikkie had to duck to avoid losing her head when Charlotte flew around the ring. She winced when Charlotte ran into the floor and waited until she stood and had pulled Jacob into a standing position. Nikkie waited expectantly for both Charlotte and Jacob to get ready to fight. "If you need a weapon to fight with there should be some extras in the closet over there," Nikkie pointed to a near by closet, "Personally i would suggest a knife or maybe a short sword, cause it is lighter, but that is just me. Chose your own weapon." Nikkie took her bow off her back and laid it on one of the benches, but she kept her quiver and arrows on. You never know when a fist arrow or smoke screen or maybe even an electric arrow might come in handy. Then again she probably wouldn't need any of them, but just in case. "Alright, are you guys ready to guys ready to fight? I must tell you though I'm not nearly as good with fighting hand to hand as I am long range."

OOC: Jacob doesn't mind.


Jacob looked up when Charlotte eagerly asked him to join in and cause the fight to become three-way. As Jacob started to look up, Charlotte ran over and pulled him up from his seat, shocking him a little. Jacob flinched at the jolt, but shook it off and said ''It's alright, it was just a little jolt'' . Stretching a little, Jacob took of his quiver full of arrows, and placed it on the ground. He then started over to the weapons storage, and noticed a dagger with a gleaming green handle. Jacob stared at the dagger for a little bit, then took it in his hands. The color reminded him of his mother, and her greenish golden eyes. Smiling, Jacob turned and started back over to Charlotte and Nikkie. ''I think this dagger suits me'',he exclaimed.

"Awesome! Alright, there is one ground rule. Try not to kill each other, 'kay?" With that she set her feet and waited for a few seconds, studying her opponents. Charlotte had a sword and shield, thus she was better prepared. Plus she actually knows how to fight with a bladed weapon. Jacob may not. Making her decision Nikkie focused her attention to Charlotte before lunging at her, knife ready to stab or block an attack.

(Who will win this round? I don’t think no one should win since these are all children of different gods and have different levels of talent. I’m perfectly fine with anyone winning, but just saying, Charlotte IS a capable fight-loving daughter of the Sky god, so the winner would have to come up with a really good move to beat her.)
Charlotte looked at the dagger, looked at Jacob, and looked back at the dagger. “GREAT!!!” She burst out, before she side-stepped to avoid a dagger lunge from Nikkie. “You’re fast,” she said admiringly before returning the stroke with a lighting-quick side slash of her sword. At the same time, she twisted herself around and shoved Jacob lightly with her shield. “You coming?”

OOC:I guess it could be a draw, but i'm up for anything

Jacob stepped back a few centimeters after being shoved little by Charlotte's shield. Jacob smirked at two girls and jumped back into the fray, dodging slashes and luges and executing some lunging of his own. Stepping out of the fray for a quick second, Jacob tried to follow both of the girl's movements, to analyze where they tend to strike or block more, then stepped back in the battle.

ooc: I don't care

Nikkie dodged Charlotte's attack, using her speed to her advantage she jumped back at Charlotte, slashing downward with her knife. She then switched her attention to Jacob and stabbed at his shoulder. If he couldn't block the attack at least she wouldn't kill him. She then slashed at his side before whipping around to face Charlotte again. She struck at her aiming low.

Jacob being focused on Charlotte had not seen Nikkie switch her attention to him and stab at his shoulder. Jacob winced as he felt a sting from the cut, but tried to ignore it. Jacob shook his head and blocked an attempt by Nikkie to slash his side. Jacob stepped back a few steps then tried a slash and the open side of Nikkie.

Nikkie's attack on Charlotte was stopped short when pain flared up in her side. She twisted and looked at the wound. It wasn't to long or deep so she attacked Jacob, swinging her knife at his neck. She then struck at his side then shoulder.

[Jacob Adams]

Jacob moved his head just in time to dodge Nikkie's attempt at his neck, but he got cut on his side and shoulder. Jacob winced harder because the cut had been made to the shoulder that was already partially injured by the Dracanae attack. Jacob tried to get his mind of the pain, but it was starting to sting worse than before. Fighting the pain, and trying to ignore a trickle of blood, Jacob attempted a swipe at Nikkie. His teeth clenched when he felt the pain from his shoulder.

OCC: Then how about Charlotte wins, since both of you don't care and it makes sense because she is the daughter of the 'king of the gods', has experience in fighting, and is not wounded yet.

Charlotte raised her shield up to block a downward slash from Nikkie, whirled around to poke at Jacob in the thigh, jumped to avoid a foot slash from Nikkie, and finally aimed a good whack with the flat of her sword at the back of Nikkie's head.

OOC:Sure, i guess she could win

Jacob winced as the cut in his shoulder started to increase in pain, he was then poked in the thigh by Charlotte. Jacob jabbed his knife at Charlotte's shield, but was deflected. He tried to aim a jab at Charlotte's leg, then winced again..

OCC: So we'll wait for Sawyar and then conclude the fight.

Charlotte noticed Jacob wincing and decided to end the fight before people got seriously hurt. Swiftly, she twisted her sword around Jacob's dagger and it flew to the side. Pointing her sword towards Jacob's neck, she said, "Disarmed." At the same time, Charlotte was warding off numerous attacks from Nikkie with her shield.

OOC: Alright

Jacob winced once again before his dagger was disarmed from him. Charlotte pointed her sword at his neck and stated that he was disarmed. Jacob nodded, a bit happy that the battle was finally nearing its end. Jacob steeped back a little, and watched as Nikkie and Charlotte finished their battle.

"Righto!" Charlotte yelled, before swinging back into battle. Since only Nikkie was left, she focused her attention on her and her alone. Dodging slashes, she returned with a few of her own, but felt her strength wanning. "Now is the time," she said to herself. Immediately Charlotte began a series of slashes, thrusts, whacks, and parries that had won every fight for her.

ooc: Sorry!!!

Nikkie dodged Jacob's attack but received a solid smack on the back of her head from Charlotte. Now that I know what happens, I wish I hadn't dodged the swipe. Nikkie shook her head the began a vicious attack on Charlotte trying to wound her at the very least. Charlotte blocked them all. Well she does have the advantage of the length of a sword, the shield and most importantly, experience. Charlotte attacked, all Nikkie could do is deflect them of her blade or dodge them. And, although Nikkie was fast, she did receive several shallow cuts for not being fast enough. Nikkie finally stopped Charlotte's blade when she had cut at Nikkie's abdomen. But she wasn't trained for holding out like this and after a few seconds she lost her grip on the hilt of the knife. Nikkie held her hands up, "You win. I lose. Tear," she traced a finger from the corner of her eye down her cheek as if she was tracing the track of a tear. She smiled, "You're good."

OCC: It's fine.

Charlotte breathed in and out raggedly. "You're both good too! But I'm out of practice." She moaned with mock pain. "I can feel myself getting sore already!" Suddenly her tone changed. "So what are we going to do now?" Charlotte asked sweetly. "Do you think we could, like, do something, like, easy, like, something that doesn't, like, have a lot of, like, active engagement in it?" Her mocking, high voice lowered to her regular cheerful tone. "Like - no joke intended - um... arts and crafts? Or eating? Or sleeping? Eating sounds good too!"

OOC:It's ok

Jacob watched as both Charlotte and Nikkie exchanged blows, neither seemed to want to give up. He winced as his cut still continued to burn, but he tried to ignore the pain. Jacob turned his attention back to the battle when he saw Nikkie lose the grip on her knife. He stood up, stretched a little, then strode over to the other two. Jacob smiled as both complemented each other.Charlotte's tone changed as she asked more questions, all at a fast rate. Jacob decided to suggest something, ''I think we should go swimming, or eat, or just relax, but first I need to get this cut looked after''.

Nikkie nodded. "All wonderful suggestions. Unfortunately eating is out of the question until the conch is sounded. Here," she got her bag of ambrosia out and held it out to them, "it'll take away you're pain and hurry the healing process along. Jacob, I think you need to be more careful, I mean, your shoulder was wounded earlier. Either that or you definitely need practice. I'm sure one of the senior campers would be glad to help." She took a pinch of ambrosia for herself and tied it closed again. "We could do any of those activities that you suggested, or we could finish the tour of the camp and then relax or swim or sleep or arts and crafts."
