ooc: okay
Nikkie nodded at Shade and Jacob. "Why don't we stop before our pegasi kill us with their stunts. What do you say to that?" She patted Lughna's side and they flew off. Nikkie leaned over his neck to get near his ear and said, "We're still going to fly, but no more stunts. I like myself intact thank you very much." She could tell Lughna was probably thinking, 'Me not do stunts? Ha!'. Well, I tried, Nikkie thought. They turned and flew to Jacob and Shade. "Where do you want to go?"

Jacob tried to think of a place where they could go that would prevent the pegasi from trying to attempt any tricks and stunts. He thought for a few seconds, then spoke. ''Since the pegasi spend most of their time in their stable and in the air, why not show them what the rest of the camp looks like from the ground? Let's take them on a tour of the camp. Starting with the forest". Shade's eyes shined as if she wondered what the ground would actually look like from a different level.

"Alright," Nikkie agreed. Lughna dived down to the forest. He touched down at a run and gradually slowed and then stopped at the edge of the forest. They waited for Jacob and Shade before proceeding into the forest. Lughna had his head up and nostrils flared as he took the time to study the forest. His ears swiveled constantly, never staying focus on one sound for long. Nikkie shook her head at him, amazed that he was this oblivious to the rest of the camp. "Oh sweet boy," she sighed and patted his neck, "you can be so dim." He turned his head to look at her, an offended look on his face, before turning to the sounds of the forest again.

Jacob and Shade followed Nikkie's lead and flew down to the edge of the forest. They joined Nikkie and Lughna in walking into the forest. Shade's eyes brightened when she saw the different forms of life. They varied from trees to plants to small animals. Even the occasional nymph was spotted momentarily out of her tree. Shade was feeling very excited. She had never seen the camp area from a ground view, she had always been in the air. Her ears constantly twitched when they heard a sound.

Lughna stretched his neck to check out a bush, then reared back when a nymph burst out of it and ran off. Nikkie clung to his neck as he backed up. Nikkie rolled her eyes at him. Nikkie lit up with a sudden idea. She turned back so she could look at Jacob. "We can give them a tour, but how 'bout a race to the beach? You know, a race on the ground, not in the air." She spoke that last part at both pegasi.

Jacob stayed close to Shade, as he was sure she would want to wander off and explore more parts of the forest. As they were walking, Lughna encountered a nymph that startled him. Shade made a chuckling -like sound as she watched him rear back in astonishment. Jacob looked back at Nikkie as she suggested they have a race. Jacob looked at Shade, who seemed eager to get going, so he turned back. ''That sounds good" he replied as he hopped onto the dark-colored Pegasus.

"Okay! As I said, flying...is...not...allowed." She looked between both pegasi as she said that. She tugged at Lughna's mane to tell him to back up a little until they were even with Shade and Jacob. Her heart was hammering as adrenaline ran through her body. Then she realized that she didn't know how much horse riding Jacob had done. "Since I don't know how much you know about horse back riding, especially bareback, I want to give you a tip. Try to slip into the horse's running rhythm. And hang on to the mane if you must and hold yourself on with your legs not your hands. Do that, and it is supposed to help stay on more comfortably, for you and the pegasus." She stuck her hand out to Jacob. "May the fastest pegasus win.... Would you do the honors of counting us down?" she asked shifting around on Lughna's back.

Jacob made himself comfortable on Shade's back, before turning to listen to Nikkie's advice. He replayed the tips in his head before answering, ''I think I got most of it''. He shuffled once more, to get a good grip on Shade's mane. He watched as Nikkie stuck out her hand and exclaimed ''May the best pegasus win''. Jacob smiled and returned the handshake before counting down. ''5...4...3....2...1..Go!" He shouted before tugging on Shade's mane, causing her to set off in a gallop.

When Jacob shouted go Nikkie dug her heels into Lughna's side. He leaped forward a raced alongside Jacob and Shade. You don't need to be a pegasus to fly, boy. He jumped any logs or creeks they came across, causing Nikkie to fly out of her seat and always ended with her just hugging his neck to stay on. He was kind enough not to jump any bushes that appeared in front of them, instead he just dodged around them. The other two were easily keeping pace with them and she doubted Lughna would beat them in this land race. She saw out of the corner of her eye that the beach was coming up. She turned her full attention to it and leaned closer to Lughna's neck.

As he and Shade jumped over obstacles in their way, Jacob clung to her mane as wind whipped at his face. He slightly looked over and saw that Nikkie and Lughna were keeping pace with them, length by length. Jacob returned his attention to the route in front of them and held on to Shade. She jumped over logs and creeks, dodged bushes and startled nymphs, and avoided wandering campers. As Jacob held on, he could see the beach fast approaching, so he yelled for her to go faster. Shade heard his commands and picked up her galloping.

Shade pulled a length ahead at the sight of the beach. "Come on Lughna, go!" His ears went flat against his head and she could feel the shift in his rhythm as he tried to keep up with Shade. But Shade was smaller, lighter, and faster. And, although he had more energy than most pegasi should, there was a limit on his stride length. They broke through the trees and onto the beach, a head behind them. Lughna kept running until he hit the shallows of the lake. Nikkie slid off his back and splashed ankle deep into the water. She felt his neck and chest which were slick with sweat and he was breathing hard. "We'll get 'em next time buddy." Lughna looked at her before laying down in the water. Nikkie splashed water on his neck before turning to Shade and Jacob. "Good race, Shade should race in the mortal world."

As they neared the beach, Jacob could feel Lughna and Nikkie try to keep pace with them, but the disatance seemed to much. As Shade burst through the trees and onto the sand, Jacob looked back and saw Lughna burst a few moments later. He slid off Shade, and led her to the water as Lughna collapsed in the surf. Jacob splashed some water onto her mane to cool off and hydrate her. Jacob turned to Nikkie and answered, ''You and Lughna put up a good challenge, I guess Shade just lasted longer". As he continued talking to her, Shade opened her eyes and looked over at the relaxed Lughna. Her eyes held a twinkle for a few moments, before she got up and strode over too him. She nudged at him as if she wanted him to get up and help her explore the beach.

Lughna studied Shade for a moment before heaving a great moan and rolling farther onto his side, careful on keeping his neck and head above water. "Lazy bones," Nikkie sighed before sitting in the water and leaning onto his side. She shrugged up at Jacob, "Though I guess I can't judge if I sit with him now can I?" She splashed water up onto his neck and then patted his side and pushed herself out of the water. She turned and began to wade through the water. "Well, know that we are here, we can pick up all the stuff I left. God, I am so forgetful, I swear I'd lose my head if it wasn't attached." She held her hands in a 'eh, what are you going to do?' gesture. An impish grin crept onto her face and she spun, kicking up a spray of water at Jacob.

Jacob chuckled at Shade's dilemma as he relaxed in the water. He knew that Shade wanted to explore the entire sound but she didn't want to do it alone. Suddenly, as he was watching Shade try to convince Lughna, he got blasted by a spray of water. He shook himself a little and looked over at a quite pleased Nikkie, who was studying her handy work. His face switched to a 'Ohh, it's like that' look as he sat down in the water. He started kicking the water in sprays at Nikkie, while laughing the entire time.
Shade meanwhile, was bent on getting Lughna to accompany her. She stayed near him and continued to nudge him, trying to get him to get up.

Nikkie shrieked when she got splashed. "It's on," she gasped. She bent and threw up a wall of water at Jacob and kept on splashing. Well, I'm not bored anymore, but I am soaked, she thought and kicked up a spray of water. She dove behind Lughna, who seemed quite content to stay where he was, despite Shade's proddings to get him up and moving. from her angle she went under water to avoid more splashes, though the onslaught of water finally made Lughna accept Shade's offer and heaved himself up to plod slowly down the beach. She went back above the surface of the water and shielded her face with one hand and tossed water at Jacob with the other.

Jacob chuckled when Nikkie shrieked in surprise. He covered himself in defense when Nikkie started throwing walls of water at him. As he was shielding himself, he could hear Lughna finally get up and walk down the beach with Shade. He smirked slightly, as he opened one eye and looked at the two disappear further down the beach. It seemed to him, that Shade actually enjoyed Lughna's company and whether she did it out of company, boredom, or a possible attraction to him, Jacob would never know. He turned his attention back to the water war , and once again resumed kicking water back, all the while getting splashed more and more.
Shade's P.O.V Shade had a content smile on her face as she walked alongside the tired-lazy Lughna. She noticed the look on his face and tried to lighten things up. She started a fast paced trot in front of him, trying to encourage him to lighten up.

Nikkie was shoveling more and more water at Jacob trying to get him to quit and allow Nikkie the victory. That plan was not working at all. She kicked at the water trying to get him to yield to the attack, but it still wasn't working. "Yield!" she shouted lunging forward. She shoved him and then moved away. She kicked up more water. The exercise was starting to take its toll. She was soaked to the bone, wearing down and to stubborn to give up. Of course she would eventually give up, and she could feel that time fast approaching, but she was having to much fun to give up now.

ooc: Let's make a secondary story from the point of the pegasi Jacob could feel the frustration in the waves Nikkie was shoveling, probably caused by him refusing to give up. He heard her yell "yield!" and was shoved a few meters back, as she attempted to get him to give up. He could feel himself getting tired from constantly kicking and splashing water at her. He knew that he would have to give up, but his adrenaline was telling him not to. ''Never!" he yelled as he continued his counter attack. Shade's P.O.V Shade was in a dilemma. She hadn't succeeded in getting him to snap out of his sluggish mood. It seemed that Lughna had only joined her to get away from the splash war. She thought for a few seconds before coming up with something that would get him to avert his attention to her. She tried to fake a stumble, when she accidentally clipped a rock and was sent careening toward the ground, she closed her eyes as she braced for the impact.

"Fine!" Nikkie shouted back and she kept kicking up the water. But her attacks didn't have as much water in them as they used to. Nikkie was starting to pant at the effort of fighting back. "Alright! Enough, enough!" She yelled as she held her arms up to try to block the water. "You win this round, but I will win the next time," she laughed and tried to dry her face with her soggy sleeve. "Well, that was fun," she wrung out her hair, "But I'm not the only one cold right?" She stood and ran out of the water and dropped down onto the beach. "The sand is warm, come out before you get hypothermia," she called. Nikkie was joking of course, it would be very hard to get hypothermia on a hot summer day, even in a cool lake. Maybe a cold. Or maybe not. We modern day folk have great immune systems. She shrugged and dug her hands into the sand. Lughna had be walking along half asleep next to Shade, and had made no move to quicken his pace when she trotted ahead. And when she fell he merely stopped and waited for her to stand back up. He had gotten used to lazy days in the stall and was wondering if he could go back for a quick nap. Of course then he would be scolded by whoever was in there and later, by Nikkie. So, he decided he might as well make the best of his mini predicament and he at least picked his head up a little and moved up to a faster pace.

Jacob could feel the depleting energy in Nikkie's splashes. Unfortunately, his energy was depleting just as fast. He started panting as he tried to continue splashing water, but his arms wouldn't listen to him anymore. He sighed a sigh of relief as Nikkie declared the end of the war. He shook some water out of his hair and followed her onto the sand. He laid down beside her and relaxed as the sun started drying him off. ''Soo...now that we're alone..what do you wanna do?" he questioned as he sat up to look at her.
Shade's P.O.V Shade was completely stumped as she continued walking alongside Lughna. He didn't make an effort to keep up with her, he was hardly paying attention, and he didn't even attempt to save her from falling. She wasn't sure how she could get him to show the faintest sign of interest in her. She breathed out and continued to walk, her plan having failed her. She had no other idea that would make him avert his attention to her, so she just kept silent and forlorn.

Nikkie shifted to look at Jacob. "I don't know. It isn't like we can ride off into the sunset. One it isn't sunset and two our pegasi have left us," she pointed at the two dots farther down the beach. "They seem to be intent on seeing the camp with or without us. Though, Lughna could have more energy about it." She shrugged and laid back in the sand. "Well, what have we done.... We've talked about nothing in particular, we've also learned more about each other. That includes family and school records.... and that is it. We have also raced from the forest to the beach, and watched the clouds. Then we fought in hand to hand combat, and then swam for a bit. I gave you a heart attack, and almost drowned because I was laughing to hard. Then had a race from the lake to the stables. And then we almost killed ourselves with the stunts our pegasi pulled. We walked through the forest with the pegasi, and then had a race on them. We had a water war, and now are relaxing and drying off," Nikkie had been holding up fingers for each activity and she let her hands drop. "And I don't think I missed anything." Nikkie had no clue on what they could do next.

Jacob looked down the beach to where Nikkie was pointing, and he could faintly make out the two dots that were their pegasi. He wondered how the two were getting along, until Nikkie mentioned that Lughna wasn't that enthusiastic. He thought of things they could do while Nikkie listed all the the activities they had done. When she finished, Jacob was still thinking. Coming up with nothing else, he said, ''Well...since..we are dating...I guess we could just..hug for now?" He said as he spread out his arms and a smirk rose to his face.
Shade's P.O.V
Shade couldn't take it anymore. She could figure out no reason why Lughna was ignoring her and being lazy. She realized that he was very excited when they were flying. but she couldn't realize why he was so inactive right now. Deciding to find out for herself, she sped up a little and stepped right in front of him, and neighed as a way of saying why he was ignoring her, tears slightly falling.

Nikkie stared at Jacob for a moment before pointing her finger in his face. "What's that smirk for?" she asked. She then crossed her arms. "'Sides, we just had a water war. You should always wait until you dry off before hugging the enemy," she curled up, chin on her knees, watching the lake. It was a very, very lame excuse. She couldn't believe she had come up with such a stupid excuse. She had all a sudden become very embarrassed and self conscious. And she knew her cheeks were turning red, and she hoped her arms hid it.
Lughna stopped when Shade stood in front of him. He watched her for a moment before laying back his ears in a challenge and he nipped at her, before taking off. He was going to even to racing score. Of course he'd beat her now that he doesn't have to worry about Nikkie on his back. But, being the idiot he is, he forgot that Shade didn't have a human to worry about either.

Jacob sighed and brought his arms down. She had a point he thought to himself as he too turned and looked toward the lake. Jacob could feel that Nikkie was uncomfortable about something, possibly the fact that she still felt uneasy doing romantic things. Maybe it was just that she wasn't used to being in a relationship yet. Jacob looked out the corner of his eye and noticed her trying to hide her embarrassment from him. He smiled slightly and turned back to her, took her hands in his and exclaimed, ''If you feel uncomfortable about something, you can tell me.''
Shade stared as Lughna nipped her then took off. He wanted to race! Shade neighed in frustration as he left her. She tries to talk to him one-to-one and he runs off. She neighed again before racing after him, trying to get him stop.

"That's just it," Nikkie tugged her hands out of Jacob's grasp. "I can't really, seen as how it is about...... us," she clasped her hands in front of her and stared at them. Everything had been fine until he mentioned them dating. She wondered if this happened all the time with first relationships, or just her luck. She glanced at Jacob a moment before looking back at her hands, wondering how to proceed. "I'm sorry, it's just awkward for me."
Lughna took Shade's chase as an acceptance to his challenge and continued at his easy canter. When she was even with him he brought up the speed. He kept up the race, not caring that Shade was trying to get him to stop running.

ooc: I apologize for a bit of godmodding.
Jacob looked at Nikkie as she clasped her hands together and exclaimed her problem. Jacob looked at the ground for a few seconds, thinking, before looking back at her. He sighed and shifted a little closer to her. ''Look, I can fully understand if you feel awkward or embarrassed. This is a first relationship for both of us. But we can get through it together" Jacob explained as he once again held his arms open, hoping a comforting hug would help.
Shade neighed in frustration as Lughna started speeding away from her. She continued chasing after him as she thought of a plan. She finally came up with one, although she knew it would be risky. She steadily caught up with him, and deciding to take the risk, ran into him. This caused her to trip into him and made them fall. Somehow, she ended on top of him. She blushed slightly at the position they were in.

ooc: It's okay it wasn't much
Instead of leaning in for a hug, Nikkie scrunched into a smaller ball. She was very uncomfortable and it wasn't like her to be like that. Sneaking a quick glance at Jacob she hoped she hadn't offended him. She just didn't know what to do in this type of situation. Burying her chin in her elbow she thought of how to deal with this. She didn't want to hurt his feelings by breaking up with him, but it wasn't like she knew what happened in relationships. Sure she had read plenty of comedy/romance mangas, but that was all fictional.... And in Japan. And everything was perfectly planned by one person most of the time. Not to self: Give Aphrodite girls and guys more credit on their boyfriend/girlfriend skills. Looking at Jacob again she thought of what to say. "True it is both of our first relationships. But I think what to do comes more naturally to some than it does to others. Meaning you and me, respectively."
Lughna was very unhappy with Shade. He snorted before rolling to his side and heaving himself up. He shook, trying to rid his coat completely of the sand. He'd take care of his wings later on. It was unfair. He had been winning too. He swung on her, his ears half back, ticked off and wondering what she wanted.

Jacob sighed as Nikkie scrunched herself into a smaller ball. He saw her sneak a glance at him before turning back. He turned to the lake and thought to himself, I guess she feels self-conscious about beign in her first relationship. How can I help her...Oh! I think I have it . Jacob turned his gaze back towards his sullen girlfriend, took her hands from the circle and dropped them. ''Nikkie, I know you feel self-conscious, but you don't have to worry about hurting my feelings. I understand what your going through. If hugging or any affectionate things make you self-conscious, then you just tell me. I'll stop. I don't want you to feel scared in our relationship.'' he explained as he smiled at her.
Shade rolled as Lughna heaved her off him. She backed away in fright as he swung at her, seemingly angry for some reason. Shade was shocked, sad, and partially frightened. He had never acted like that to her before. She could see the anger in his eyes. But, she saw something she didn't expect to see, confusion. With tears slightly falling from her eyes, she went up and slightly kissed his cheek, (ooc:if its possible for horses to do that) before backing away and running further down the beach, hoping he wouldn't follow her.

"'Kay," Nikkie mumbled. She didn't know what else to say. Nikkie uncurled from her ball though, enough to sit cross legged watching the lake. "Sorry," Nikkie shrugged her shoulders, "I guess I'm still kind of shocked."
Lughna watched Shade run off, gave another shake, and laid down in the surf.

ooc: kk thnx, and it's alright.
Jacob smiled as Nikkie uncurled from her ball. He was happy he could help her feel a little more relaxed, after all, this was the first relationship for both of them. He sighed and looked toward the lake, only to look back at her when she apologized for being shocked. He continued smiling, ''It's alright'' he exclaimed as he wrapped one arm around her.''We're going through this together''.
Shade collapsed further down the beach, exhausted from running. Her tears were now streaming down her cheeks as she only heard the crash of the waves. She couldn't believe he had been so rude to her, she may have accidentally ran into him, but that was because she had wanted to talk to him. She knew she could never tell him...her true feelings. She continued to cry, though lighter, as she watched the waves.
