Nikkie crawled along the branch beofre sitting up. She was once again in the forest for practice in different situations. Though she was depleted of ideas. You could only do so many scenarios of fighting in forested areas. Currently she was in a stealth senario. Again. She drew an arrow, pulled it back, and fired. Of course she hit the target. It wasn't hard since it couldn't move. She sighed. It was hard to tell how well she could sneak about when the targets don't hear or move, or anything else a normal human, demi-god, or animal would do. Centering herself she put her bow on her back and stood up. Locating a near by branch she jumped to it. Her breath was forced out of her as she hit her chest. "Definiatly not one of my more graceful landings," she wheezed before hauling herself up onto the branch. She was bored, no doubt, but she couldn't think of anything else. Finally she just took her bow choose six spots of the forest floor and shot at them.

Jacob breathed out as he left the strawberry fields. He had just finished helping the nymphs and Dionysus kids grow the delicious fruit. He continued walking through the camp, he was bored, and he'd only been there 2 days. He decided to take a walk through the forest and see if anything interesting was happening. As he entered the tree filled area, he heard sounds like arrows whistling through the air. Interested, he turned and followed the sound. The use of the arrows reminded him of his girlfriend, Nikkie. She, being a daughter of Apollo, always liked using her bow and arrows. He wondered if she was the source of the sounds. He followed the path and saw a tree, and just as he was about to step out, he saw a person jump down to a lower branch. As Jacob squinted to see the jumper, he realized it was in fact Nikkie. He smiled as he drew closer to the tree. ''Hey Nikkie, miss me? " Jacob called out, a smile upon his face.

Nikkie leaned a bit out of the tree see who was calling for her. Jacob. "Not particulary," she called down in a teasing voice. She held on to the branch and slipped to the side and swung to another branch before going over to the trunk and climbing down. "What bring you here?" she asked walking over to where he was. "Wait," she said holding up her hands, "I'll bet that you came here to relax away from the chaos of the camp, am I right?" It was a educated guess since that is what most kids do when they go to the forest. She shrugged before looking him up and down. "Strawberry fields?" she asked looking at his shoes that were nearly caked in dirt and mud. "Eating or helping the satyrs?" she thought for a moment, "Eh, what does it matter? It's not like if you eat a few strawberries we'll all starve. Oh! And how are you liking camp life? Chaotic, is it not?"

Jacob fained a crushed face as Nikkie came down from the branch she had been sitting on. He chuckled when Nikkie started bombarding him with questions. Jacob chuckled and started to answer them, one by one. "I was helping the satyrs,nymphs and Dionysus kids grow strawberry plants, and I didn't eat...all of them at least. Anyways, I came here because I had heard the sounds from your arrows and I decided to investigate, coupled with the fact that I actually missed you" he exclaimed as he held out his arms. ''I would be forced to not open my arms for a hug if I didn't like you" Jacob said as he smiled.

Nikkie went over and gave Jacob a hug. "You still have missed one question," she pulled away to look at him, "how are you enjoying camp? Most kids would be hopelessly lost with all of these. But you seemed to have slid into the life easily. Good job," she backed up and frowned. "Darn. Well I guess you wouldn't have your bow while taking care of plants. Eh, there goes that idea," she went around collecting her arrows. "It has been slow the last couple days, so excuse me if I'm not at my usual exuberence." Stuffing her arrows back in the quiver she turned around to look at him. "So, got any plans for the rest of the day?"

Jacob smiled and scratched the back of his head. ''I really don't have any plans so I decided to go for a walk. I was wondering if you might want to spend some boyfriend girlfriend time together?" Jacob exclaimed as he looked back at her.

Nikkie's face flared up. Oh really? Guess I'm still not use to this. "That'll be great," she cleared her throat. Still awkward she fiddle with her quiver's strap. "Shall we go through the forest or around the camp?" Nikkie personally wanted to stay away from the campers at least. She couldn't do anything about nymphs, satyrs, or niaids. Or monsters. Of course they were always more focused on trying to kill demi-gods. Eh, what's a halfblood to do? She looked around unsure of what else to say.

Jacob noticed the awkwardness in Nikkie's mood and guessed that she wanted to stay away from the other campers. I take it, if we're going to spend time together, then she would want it to be away from the others Jacob thought to himself. Smiling, he said,''How about we go through the forest, since there wouldn't be any other campers to interrupt us''.

[Sawyar]

"Great! So you want to go by land or tree?" she laughed. "Terrible attempt at humor.... Actually now that I think about it, that wasn't funny at all." She tapped her chin, thinking. "Oh well, who cares. 'Sides, traveling by tree would me traveling like a squirrel. And I don't know about you but I don't have squirrel DNA." Nikkie looked up at the trees. "Through, jumping from tree to tree like that seems like it would be fun," she looked back at Jacob. "I'm getting off topic aren't I? Eh," shrugging, she moved over to him. "Which way? Or shall we just wander?"

Jacob chuckled when Nikkie questioned if they would go by land or by tree, then she admitted that she didn't have squirrel DNA. She admitted that she was getting off topic and returned to the question of if they should wander or not. Jacob thought for a few seconds, before suggesting something. 'If we go on a certain path, someone might interrupt our time together. So I think we should wander and see if we can find a secluded spot''.

"'Kay," with that she turned and trotted off to her right. After a minute or so she realized that Jacob probably wanted them to walk together she she slowed down to a walk and stopped so he could catch up. "Sorry about that. I'm not use to having people walking with me. Well, you know," she trailed off. She started walking, at a slower pace, wondering what to talk about. They didn't actually have that much in common, other than the one half of their family tree. "So, have you met anyone else? Or are you still in the dark about the campers? Of course it is hard to keep track of them all when there are always new kids coming and old kids going, but you'll eventually get used to it."

Jacob followed Nikkie as they took the path to their right. She stopped so he could catch up and apologized to him. Jacob smiled and exclaimed, ''It's alright. I realize we're still not used to this so there will most likely be some mistakes on the way, but we should be able to get through them together". They walked silently for a few minutes before Nikkie questioned if he had come in contact with anyone else. Jacob thought for a few minutes before responding.''Apart from you and Charlotte, I've talked with the nymphs, satyrs, pegasi, and a few of the Dionysus kids, but apart from that, I haven't really talked much with the rest of the camp'', Jacob answered as he took her hand in his.

Once again Nikkie's face heated up but, her head was down so she doubted that Jacob saw. She thought about claiming her hand back and then decided against it. She didn't mind holding hands. "Well, I'm sure over the next couple of days, or maybe more than that you'll meet more people. Oh, how fun. Right?" she laughed. "Good luck,"

Jacob could feel the nervous feeling in Nikkie's hand but he smiled when she didn't pull away. They were both in their first relationship, so they would be able to understand what the other was going through. He chuckled as she exclaimed ''how fun'' it would be when he got acquainted to more campers then wished him luck. ''Thanks, but judging by how the Ares Cabin likes to "initiate" new campers. I'm not sure I would make very good friends with some of them"Jacob answered as he kept lookout for a spot they could go to. ''By the way, what do you want you want to do when we find a secluded spot for us?

"Seclusion is seemingly impossible in this camp. You know, with all the monsters and stuff in the camp," Nikkie shrugged. "The unglamorous life of the typical half blood teenager," she joked. "Back to the subject, I'd say training but you don't carry around your weapons," Nikkie tipped her head to the side. "Like I said, I'm not at my usual exuberance which equals no ideas. Idea factory has shut down for the day." Nikkie shook her head, "Sorry," though she had no reason to say so.

[Jacob Adams]

Jacob chuckled when she explained that seclusion was impossible in the camp. First off, the Ares cabin is always on the lookout for fresh meat. Then, the monsters in this forest would love to eat any campers that discover them. Thirdly, there's always campers walking through these woods. How is a guy supposed to spend time with his girlfriend without all these interruptions? Jacob thought to himself. ''How is a couple supposed to spend time together with all these interruptions? Do you know any other places where we would be alone?'' he asked.

"Simple, you don't," Nikkie shrugged. "There is only partial seculsion. But no there aren't really any seculded spots. But," she took back her hand and trotted off. She paused at a branch in the trail before picking the on on the left. Nikkie paused at a clearing. "This place is guiet enough." She looked around before choosing a rock to sit on. "By the way, if you find an arrow it's probably mine. This is one of the places I go when I train in the forest."

Jacob watched as Nikkie trotted off and paused between two branches. His eyes knitted in confusion as she stepped off the trail. He followed her lead and stopped to look. Nikkie had found a clearing that was at least quiet enough for the two of them. She explained that she used this place as one of her training spots, and that any stray arrows would be hers. Jacob looked around and saw that this clearing was not the most secluded spot, but it would be alright for them to spend time alone together..at least for a few hours or so. He walked a few steps and sat down near her. ''So..we've got time together atleast for a few hours...what do you want to do?''

"Well," Nikkie moved so she could face him, "getting to know each other better is kinda high on my list of priorities. That is, if I had a list. For example, you told me about your family but I never told you about mine. As you know I have all my family members alive so no sobbing hopefully. I have a step father that hates my guts, three younger half sisters and my mom. No animals. Though if Kayla keeps it up we'll have a couple rats in no time. Then again, Noel and Mary might convince her that a kitten would be better. Who knows," Nikkie shrugged helplessly. Kayla was the tomboy of the family, nothing girlish about her. "Alright, your turn. Something about family, friends, how many times you got kicked out of school, and how it happened, any funny stories, you know anything that comes to mind." She leaned forward, her normal attitude creeping back into place as she found something to talk about.

Jacob chuckled as Nikkie talked about her family. She listed all the typical things a Half-Blood normally would experience. He continued to listen for a few more minutes before she finished and exclaimed that it was his turn. He thought for a few seconds before responding, ''As far as I know, iv'e never really met more people in my family, apart from the occasional cousin or two. I've never been kicked out of school, as I'm sure my mom and dad wouldn't like it one bit. I've never been the kind of ''comedian'' guy although I do make occasional jokes.'' Jacob explained . He thought for a few seconds before saying, '' I know you want to take things slow, so...have you had your first actual kiss yet?"

Nikkie raised her eyebrows questioningly. "Do you mean other than the one you gave me?" she asked. "No, of course not. I'm thirteen, and just last year discovered that was a half blood. I had been hoping that nothing major happened for a while," she shrugged. "Then again nothing major in Camp Half Blood would surprise me," she fell silent. Now that he brought up the subject she remembered the kiss in the forest and her face burned. And why is this the only thing I can't forget? She looked around trying to think of something to say before remembering what he said a moment ago. "Wait, you've never been kicked out of school? Ever? How? You're a half blood! You're telling me that nothing ever happened to you that was out of the ordinary that caused you to be expelled?"

Jacob chuckled when she stated that anything major wouldn't surprise her, with them being not fully human and everything. His face started to burn when the question he asked made him remember the ''events'' in the forest. He tried to shake the thoughts out of his head, but they kept reappearing. I know that kiss was accidental, but ...I'm really sure I felt something. Either I'm just excited about kissing someone, or I really really like her.. Jacob thought to himself as he considered the options. He snapped out of his thoughts when Nikkie stated that she was surprised he had never been kicked out of a school. Jacob thought for a few seconds before stating,''Well...there was the time when I got kicked out for attacking my gym teacher who was actually a Giant. Then there was the time when I sabotaged the school choir, who were actually sirens. Then.." Jacob snapped out of his rant when he realized he had actually experienced un usual events, a must for all half bloods. He rubbed the back of his neck as he said, ''Well...I guess I have been kicked out on more than one occasion, like most half-bloods. How about you?"

Nikkie nodded at Jacob's answer. "That's more like it." She snorted when he asked if she ever got kicked out. "Oh yeah, plenty of times. I trashed my art room when the teacher grew fangs claws. I've been kicked out for destroying the locker room in one school, blasting a hole in one of the math room walls in another school, and and dumping a bunch a dye in the swimming pool. Not because of a monster but because I hated that school." Nikkine smiled at the memory. If she ever was allowed back in that school she'd do it again. "The good old days," Nikkie sighed. She leaned back on her hands. "Now what else were you going to say? You said 'Then" and stopped talking. What was 'Then'?"

[Jacob Adams]

Jacob listened in awe as Nikkie listed some of the many reasons why she had been kicked out of her schools. One of the reasons she listed, was dumping dye in one of her school's swimming pools. That must have really sucked for the people who liked swimming. I can imagine a girl running around screaming with purple hair Jacob thought to himself. He laughed when she stated that she did the events simply in hatred for the school. He finished his laughing when she questioned why he had stopped at "then". He once again rubbed the back of his head before slowly answering. ''Well...the most recent school I went too.....didn't expel me. I stopped going there because that's when...well....the dad incident happened...and I found out about this place." Jacob breathed out when he finished his reason. I t was really hard for him to mention things concerning his dad.

"Oh," Nikkie was quiet. Stupid, you should have just left that alone! "I'm sorry for bringing that up, again." she murmured. Next time he stops short like that I won't ask. "Well, ah, look at the bright side... You're alive," she said half heartedly. And how is that suppose to make him feel better? He lost his dad, the only family member that he has. But it wasn't like Nikkie knew how to comfort him in the death of a family member. Sadness, yes she could make them feel better. Grief, not so much it seemed. Finally she thought of something. "Come on!" She slapped his shoulder and jumped off the rock, "Let's get moving, exercise wipes your mind clear of all thoughts," she bounced lightly on her toes. "A race? Hand to hand combat? Target practice? Climbing? What do you want to do?"

Jacob quickly tried to shake the thoughts out of his head as Nikkie tried to cheer him up. She explained that exercise wipes the mind clear of thoughts. She slapped his shoulder and jumped of her seat on the rock. She suggested many things to do that would help him cheer up, including hand to hand combat, and target climbing. Jacob shook out of his thoughts as he considered things they could do. Finally thinking of one, Jacob responded,''I know your really excited to get moving, so why don't we see who can race towards the beach first?".

Nikkie grinned. "Alright! Ready? On your marks......... Get set......... GO!" and Nikkie took off. After a minute or two she slowed down a little bit not wanting to waste all of her energy. Soon enough she saw the beach. Oh, good. I was beginning to think I gotten us lost. She put on a final burst of speed, raced to the beach and slammed to a halt. She dropped back on the sand and laid there watching clouds pass. "Once again," Nikkie finally managed, "You are really, really fast." For once Nikkie was content to stay were she was and not constantly move. Is it possible that I have run out of energy? she asked herself. She felt the itch to move again and smiled. Nope, not even close.

Jacob leaned down as Nikkie started to count down to start the race. As soon as she shouted "GO"!, Jacob sprinted as fast as he could. He considered this race a rematch of the one they had earlier, a race Nikkie had won. He started to slow down a bit, when he saw Nikkie a few paces ahead of him. When he reached the beach, he saw Nikkie had already beaten him, once again. He placed his hands on knees and panted as she laid down on the sand.He smiled and thanked her as she once again complimented him on his speed. He stood up, walked a few paces and sat down beside her. ''Well, that was a good race. What do you want to do now?".

"Aren't I already doing something? Am I not watching the clouds float by?" she pointed at them before sitting up. "I don't know. Those other options are still open. Well, except tree climbing. Unless you want to go back to the forest." She brushed the sand from her hands. "OR we could just sit and do nothing, but I don't think that is what you'd want to do, huh?"

Jacob chuckled when she stated she was already doing something by looking at the clouds. He too started watching the clouds as he thought to himself. It's really fun to be with her. The only problem is, she seems so shy when we do boyfriend girlfriend stuff. She even seemed shy when we held hands. I wish I knew how to make her feel accustomed to dating someone. He shook out of his thoughts when she presented some things they could do. He thought for a few seconds before answering,''Well, you have a lot more energy than I do. I was actually thinking of relaxing, but I suppose you want to do something exciting".
