I was wondering if it would be possible to add a new 'god' to the list of powerful beings: the starlord.
Idea: Basically, a starlord is what a star really 'is'. It's not a flaming ball of burning gas, but an actual being, commonly known as heavenly beings.
History: The first starlord was named Ba'alis Zehou, the Father of the stars. He is known today as star HE0107-5240. He had four children who later populated the universe with the stars we see today. Their names were Alioth, Megrez, Ara, and Polaris. Nobody really knows why they existed in the first place; history doesn't record much of them except in the names that were given them. This was probably because in the early years the stars stayed mainly in the sky—few mortals ever saw one in its bodily form and lived.
Reason (why I would like to add this minor god): Star history has changed a lot, and the stars have become restless. Some have even come down to earth disguised as mortals, married and had mortal children. Unfortunately, almost never do the children survive, just because of the fact that a star's body cannot cope with a mortal body. (This is different from a demigod, because the mortal was made after the gods, and thus they are *remotely* related.) The reason I propose to include this 'minor god' is because Zephenus' sister Violet is one of those star children. Her father, Alnilam, son of Betelgeuse (in Orion), ran away when he realized the damage he could cause to the family he loved (Julie and Violet). I'm hoping to have him brought back into the plot, along with Zephenus, and have not only Zephenus learn a lesson, but Alnilam as well.
Comparison to the gods: A starlord is not the same as a god! Starlords are rather limited in their control of the earth; for one, they cannot exist in mortal form in direct sunlight. Their power is strongest on clear nights and is mostly in the line of healing, though a few can forge small weapons that usually work only at night. Also, stars can die, but because of their tremendous lifespans, they seem immortal.
Attitude toward gods and vice versa: Stars are minor to gods—any god, in fact. That doesn't mean they see face to face, though. In general, stars rarely speak with the gods and try to avoid getting tangled in their earthly games. Of course, there are 'misbehaved exceptions' to the rule, such as Alnilam.
I'm not asking for a cabin or anything special for starlords. All I want is just to be able to reference them and expand the Zephenus' life-plot with occasional visits from his step-father and maybe even gifts (small weapons, healing amulets, etc).
