OOC: OMGOODNESS! First thread! Excited! Here goes....
Alina Rose stood by the campfire as she watched the last of the campers walk back to their cabins. She was the only one left, just how she liked it, being alone by the dwindling fire. As she stared at the enflamed coals, a shadow crossed in front of her. She smirked and turned around, her black hair flowing behind her in the slight breeze. “How do you do that?” Reed Johnson, son of Hermes, asked her. “What? Know that you were behind me?” Alina laughed, “Reed, your so loud, I could have heard you a mile away.” He laughed and looked up at the sky, “The stars are beautiful tonight….” “Yeah, they are….” Reed reached over and took Alina’s hand.

Amaria stood next to her cabin tapping her foot impatiently. Alina was supposed to be here by now! Although she was upset she was kind of glad for the delay. She didnt know exactly how she was going to tell her the news. Amaria started pacing. Then she felt the unexpected feeling again, like she was beening watched. She turned around but no one was there. Something touched her shoulder and she jumped, but it was just a tree branch. Calm down Amaria, calm down. She looked back in the direction of the campfire and saw Alina walking down the path. Amaria rolled her eyes and muttered under her breath, "It's about time."

OOC: Hope your ok with this And I give you permission to use my character if you need to Alina saw Amaria waiting for her by the cabin. Running up to her she said, "Sorry lost track of time" She smirked warily waiting for Amaria's response. Amaria rolled her eyes and looked into the woods. Alina waited, then loosing her cool she demanded, "Well? What did you need to tell me that had to wait until everyone was in their cabins?" Alina snapped her fingers, sending sparks of electricity through the air, and thunder rumbled in the night sky, complementing Alina's anger.

"Is that reallly necessary?" Amaria said fumming and looking up at the sky; all to aware of her powers too. Alina smirked and the sky went back to its normal color. Then they both got serious. Amaria's eyes darted around her then said, "Yesterday when I was in the woods I saw something. No, felt something." Her eyes turned pitch black as she recalled the memory. "I was walking through the woods by myself when I saw this mass of black cloud in the distance. Cautiously, I went towards it and as I got closer I felt this wave of darkness wash over me and I couldn't move for like two seconds, and then it was over and the cloud dissapeared." Amaria's eyes got even darker. "I have to admit it was the most terrifying thing that's ever happend to me before."

Alina’s eyes glazed white as Amaria described her story. Her hands started shaking, and it wasn’t because of the light breeze that whistled by the Hades cabin. She spoke, almost stuttering her words, “Take me there.” Amaria gave Alina a confused look and said, “Alina, whats wrong? I’ve never seen you like this.” “Just take me there.” Amaria nodded and jerked her head towards the woods, where they normally play capture the flag every Friday night. The two ran through the woods together. They must have looked like streaks of black to anybody lurking about. When they finally reached Zeus’ fist, it had started raining. A rainy summer night. Rain always made Alina happy, but right now, she was scared, for the world. A dark mist could mean many things, and they were always terrible. Being Zeus’ favorite daughter, he told her many things, many stories. Amaria and Alina braced themselves against the heavy winds. The daughter of Zeus looked into the sky over Zeus’ fist. Nothing. Just black sky. White stars. Amaria said, “I guess its gone, it was gone when I left last time as well.” Alina nodded, her eyes going back to their normal color, Lightning blue. But she didn’t completely forget about what Hades daughter had told her.

As they walked back Amaria kept thinking back to when the darkness overtook her. There was something vaguely familiar about it. But mabe that was because she has darkness inside her as well, in a way, being the daughter of Hades. She felt she should know what the black cloud was. She shook her blond and black hair in frustration. She looked over at Alina. Amaria knew Alina knew or had an idea of what it was as well. She had been quiet and looking out into the night sky the whole time. So Amaria asked, "What do you think it was? And dont lie because I know you have an idea."

Alina turned to face Amaria. If Alina was human, she wouldn't have been able to make out Amaria's face. But since she was a demi-god, she could mostly see through the night. Amaria's long blond hair flew into the air. Alina looked at her face, it was serious. "Alina...." Amaria raised her eyebrows, ready for an answer. "I-I'm not positive about anything" Alina started, "But, my dad told me...once....that a great cloud appeared, made of mist, and....and...everytime it appeared....someone that was living came back. In full human appearance. Luckily that time, they stopped it right away. I don't know how. Somehting I don't even think Hades can control. But it would have destroyed the world...." She stopped, waiting for Amaria to respond. When she didn't Alina turned back to the way of Camp and kept walking.

ooc: sry i havent posted for a while been supper busy When Amaria got back to her cabin she walked in and laid down on her bed. So many things were running through her head. What was the black cloud? Why did it seem so familiar? What should she do about it? And on and on and on. Then she kept thinking back to what Alina had said, "... a great cloud appeared and everytime it appeared someone that was living came back." Someone that was living came back. Amaria couldnt stop thinking about that one part. Something kept nagging at her mind, but she didnt know what it was. Then it hit her. The reason the darkness that overtook her felt so familiar was because she had felt it before! As a daughter of Hades she has the ability to bring peoples spirits back to the real world. And thats the type of power she felt when the darkness overtook her, the power of bringing people back from the dead. Amaria had to tell Alina.

OOC: Hope this is in the right place... That was the problem with being a new kid in the pack. Nobody noticed you. Nobody even cared what happened to you. Well, maybe that wasn't a problem, Zephenus Wolvein told himself as he stood in the half-light behind one of the columns of the dinning plaza, hands jammed deep in the pockets of his black jeans. At least you don't get picked on. Well, maybe... The stars overhead seemed much clearer than he had ever seen them. Of course, the last time he had looked up at the stars was on the trip to Camp Half-blood. That was also the time when he had received the letter from his mom. He crumpled the note deeper into his pocket. Would life ever stop getting worse? Was life really worth the effort? It seemed the world would be better off with him out of the way; it didn't really care, anyways. And so he was back to the original though: nobody cared about newcomers. Ok, maybe the centaur was nice to him... what was his name? Shiron, wasn't it? No, it was Chiron, that was it. But besides him, no one. Especially Mr. D. He had only met Mr. D once, earlier that evening, and his opinion of him hadn't improved since. He had called Zephenus, "Zachiraiah, from the Bible, isn't it?" and it had really ticked him off. He had no idea where Mr. D had gotten "Zachiraiah", but either way it wasn't to his liking. So surprise, surprise! Mr. D didn't like him either. He didn't seem to like anyone for that matter, but Zephenus took it personally and it didn't make him feel any better. He took a deep breath and let it out slowly. This wasn't doing him any good. Stop thinking like that! he told himself. What you need to do is get yourself a weapon you can trust and start practicing. You wouldn't last a second in the condition you are right now.He touched the bow on his back. He had found it one morning, after a cold night out on the trip to Camp Half-blood, next to him and wrapped in a woolen cloth with the name 'Zeus' written on the cloth. He had felt like nothing could be bad anymore. But of course, the letter had arrived later that afternoon, specially timed to hit him at the moment when he was in the highest spirits. Yeah, the world didn't like him. And he didn't like it either, so there. He jammed his hands deeper in his pockets and wondered what to do next.

ooc: just to let you know its Zephenus that i run into. hope your ok with that Amaria woke up with her heart racing. She had just had the worst nightmare ever. She was walking through the woods again when she saw the black cloud. She tried running away this time but the darkness overtook her again and she couldnt move. But unlike last time it didnt let her go or disapear. Then as she looked into the black cloud she saw the boy that had been asumed dead a year ago when he didnt return from a quest. Nate Eccelston.Amaria knew it was just a dream but she couldnt get over it. It seemed too real. Then Amaria remembered what she had to tell Alina and practically ran to the dinning plaza. As she flew through the doors she rammed right into someone and fell over. She was about to yell at him to be more carefull when she remembered it was her that ran into him. "Are you ok?" Amaria asked. As she looked at him she's realized she'd never seen him before. "Hey, are you new here?"

OCC: Okeeday, Nate came back in your dream! That is BRILLIANT! Muhahaha, lets get this party started Ok this is kinda just a random post. So...ya Alina glanced out the window in her cabin. It was at the head of all of the rest. Next to it stood Hera's cabin, which was always empty. And on the other side was the Poseidon cabin, which only had one camper. All of them were dark and silent, blending into the night sky and the dark woods which surrounded them. Alina glanced at the digital clock next to her bed. It read 2:00am, an hour since Alina and Amaria had gone into the forest. And three hours since the Thursday night Campfire had ended. She wanted to go out and walk around, but she knew that Chiron would be mad if he caught her out of bed after hours. Last time he did, he gave her this huge lecture about how "the new Campers look up to you, so you have to obey the rules". She smirked at the memory and hopped out of her top bunk and paced around the empty cabin.

OOC: fine with me (re: getting run over). i'll just act cool... xD Ok, maybe there was a meaning in life. Like being a new roadblock. He did a perfect 360, hit the ground, and saw some stars. Rather bright stars. "Are you ok?" somebody asked. Oh yeah, he was fine. Just being a roadblock. "Um..." "Hey, are you new here?" "Uh, yeah. How did you know?" The girl rolled her eyes. "I've never seen you before, that's how. Don't you know it's past hours?" Oh, right. He remember Chiron telling him something about that. Great. Now he was going to get brought in by this girl and become the camp laughing-stock for breakfast. What a nice commence to a visit to Camp Half-blood. "Well, yeah, but I don't really have a place to stay..." The girl laughed. Actually, it sounded more like a stifled laugh, like somebody watching a funny video and not wanting anyone else to know. "Your cabin is over there," she said, pointing across the plaza. "I have to go that way as well..." Her face darkened and a cloud seemed to cover her eyes. After a moment it cleared. "I can also introduce you to Alina, your cabin leader." "Wait, how do know my parent—" This time, the girl laughed without hiding it. "I'm a child of the big three too, so I can tell. Besides, Zeus never made much of a fuss trying to hide his children. Come on." Zephenus followed the girl across the plaza, a sinking feeling in his stomach. When people knew things about you that you thought were hidden, you began to distrust even your shadow. OOC: Hope that fits with the plot...

OCC: Its ok with me, as long as Abbie is ok with how you used Amaria Alina stood in the doorway of her cabin. A couple minutes ago her eyes had burned ice white. She didn’t know why. Something was wrong. She didn’t know what. She was angry. She didn’t know what she was angry about. “There must be something wrong at Camp.” Alina said to herself as she looked around at all the cabins. Her gaze stopped at the Hermes cabin. There was a shadow at the window. She got ready to alert the Camp in case there was intruder. The shadow bent down, and a light flickered on inside the Hermes cabin. Alina breathed a sigh of relief. It was Reed. He smiled childishly and waved at Alina. “What are you still doing up?” She mouthed to him. He shrugged and gave her a look that said, “What are YOU still doing up?” She mouthed back, “Couldn’t sleep.” He immediately knew something was wrong. He asked her, “You OK?” Alina shook her head, “Something’s going to happen, I don’t know what but something is coming.” Alina heard a voice coming from far away, she mouthed to Reed, “Someone’s coming.” He nodded and turned off his light. Amaria’s voice came from the distance. Alina muttered to herself, “Well, everyone is having a late night aren’t they?” Then she froze. There were two figures off in the distance. Once she recognized as Amaria Zana, daughter of Hades. The other, was a boy, not much younger than her, he was a son of the big three. As he got closer, she could tell, this could easily be her brother.

Zephenus stopped. The figure in the doorway; was it...? No, another girl. She looked a lot like his sister, as far as he could remember her, but the eyes were blue. Violet's eyes had been brown. A scene suddenly floated back into his mind, one he would never see again...
"Mom, when's the cookies going to be ready?" "They'll be ready in a minute, dear." Violet stomped her foot on the light tan carpet. "You said that five minutes ago!" Zephenus perched on the seat next to her, peering over the counter. He could smell the cookies baking in the oven.
With a start, he came back to earth, in front of a bleak looking cabin, with the cabin leader frowning down on him. And again he wondered if life really cared.

As Amaria led Zephenus to Alina's cabin she could make out a figure outside of the cabin, but then realized it was Alina. "Alina!" She whispered quietly. Alina's head turned towards them and as they got closer Amaria noticed Alina's eyes were white. "Are you alright?" Amaria asked Alina. Alina gave her 'the look' and then motioned towards Zephenus. "Oh ya this is Zephenus. He just got here and didnt know where he was going." Amaria then turned to Zephenus and said, "This is Alina, your cabin leader."

Alina looked him over warily. "Zephenus, eh?" She said, her eyes flashing with thunder, "Son of Zeus? How do you know?" Zephenus looked tired, and ready to just crash. Without warning, a blue glow enveloped Zephenus, and an eagle and a lightning bolt appeared over his head. Before Amaria or Zephenus knew what was happening, it disappeared without a trace. Alina rolled her eyes and looked at the sky, giving it a look that said, "You would, wouldn't you?" Then aloud she said to Zephenus, "Well, now we know, come on, I'll show you around."
She lead him into the marble cabin. Thunder rumbled constantly in the Zeus cabin. The ceiling was made of a mosaic of a blue sky and clouds that moved. There was a statue of Zeus in the middle, and only two sets of bunk beds on the right side of the cabin. "Well, my bunk is that one." She pointed to the top bunk in the corner, "We don't have any other Campers. Except Thalia, but she is a Hunter of Artemis, so she only comes back every once and a while. Her spot is over there, no moving anything please, she likes her cot just like that when she comes back. And there's Jason, but he doesn't live here anymore."

Amaria stood there while Alina showed Zephenus around the cabin. She was almost jumping with impaitience. When Amaria met Alina's eyes Amaria gave her the hurry up signal. Amaria couldnt wait any longer, she had to tell Alina that what her dad had told her about black clouds was actually real. But she was unsure if she should tell her about her dream. It was just a dream so it was of corse unreal, but there was just something about it that made her unsure. She looked back at Alina as she was showing Zephenus his bed. As she looked at Zephenus she realized that it wouldnt be long untill he crashed because he looked exhausted. Amaria gave Alina a head jurk toward the door, telling her she would be waiting outside. Amaria sighed, this night has been going on forever.

Alina caught Amarias look. Her eyes widened. After all those years of knowing Amaria, Alina knew that look. Something was happening, and it was important. "Well, thats all. If you have any questions, don't ask me." Alina smirked, "I'm kidding, you can ask me. What are older sisters for?" Alina paused waiting for Zephenus to say something, "Well I know that was incredibility corny....ok....well, I'm just going to step outside, for a second." She backed out slowly and as soon as she was out of his sight, she ran outside. Almost running into Amaria, she asked, "What is it?"

Amaria took a deep breath and said, "What your dad told you was true." She looked at Alina and saw she didnt quite understand, so she went on, "About the black clouds it's true. That's why it felt so familiar to me because I can bring people back from the dead, too." She saw understanding in Alina's eyes and she replied, "Are you sure?" "Almost positive." Amaria was about to tell her about her dream too, but at the last second she decided not to. Reed was close to Nate so when he died Alina also felt the pain Reed felt. So Amaria didnt want to bring it up. Anyway, it was just a dream and probably ment nothing.

Alina's eyes flickered between white and blue. She wasn't sure whether to be happy that they were right about the cloud, or be sad that there really was a cloud. She looked down at her feet. "This is going to put us all in danger." She looked back up at Amaria, "But we can't tell Chiron, yet." She glanced over Alina's shoulder at the inside of Cabin 1. Zephenus was probably didn't know what to do. "I have to get back, but tell Shane when you see him next, I'll tell Reed." She slowly walked back to Cabin 1, her eyes pure white.

Zephenus shook his head, trying to clear his mind. Incredibility corny? What the heck was that supposed to mean? With a sigh, he flopped into the bed. "You know," he muttered at the shifting ceilling. "I wouldn't mind some directions, like you sometimes did on the way here." Silence returned his question. "Oh, fine." He rolled over and stared at the far wall. Darn it! He sat up with a jerk and yanked the offending quiver from under his back. Tossing it down between him and the wall, he lay back with a sigh and contemplated the shining stars. Lights, he corrected himself, and fell asleep.

Amaria walked back to her cabin trying to keep her eyes open. She decided she would tell Shane in the morning. When she got inside her cabin she calapsed on her bed. She was exhausted. She didnt even look at the time, afraid that she would freak out if she did. Amaria groaned, she forgot there was capture the flag tommorrow. Oh well, she thought. I'll probably just get killed by accident.

OOC: hey ohh.... i'm back. Shapes moved around in the darkness. Zephenus couldn't make out what they were—hellhounds? Something drifted forward and for an instant he had a glimpse of incredibly ancient women and men. Fates? "No, not fates. Murders." Zephenus turned to face the voice. Nobody was standing nearby, though, and he spun in a complete circle without seeing anyone. "Where are you?" he shouted into the murky darkness. A chuckle echoed back. "Aye, murders. Your murders." Zephenus felt the hairs on the back of his neck rise. Whoever it was was standing right behind him and an evil aura seemed to wash over him. "What do you want?" he said, unsteadily. "That should be obvious," the voice replied. "I would like the services of one well versed in the art of murder. Someone... like you." "I did not murder anyone!" Zephenus yelled, keeping his back to the visitor. "But you have, Zephenus Wolvein." A cold hand was placed on his shoulder and an unearthly chill ran through his spin. "Zeus doesn't let you remember, but I remember. I can bring those memories back." Suddenly, Zephenus found himself standing in a stairwell. A window off to his left showed him a bright blue ocean. Down, he couldn't see anything except the empty stairs disappearing into darkness. Up above... He could hear the sounds of someone coming down the stairs. A ponderous, heavy step... A man of what must have been about 60 walked slowly down toward him, his chain tapping the each step carefully. He was blind. As the man came level with him, a sudden feeling like fire surged through him. He wanted to kill this man. His hands came up—and a bolt of brilliant blue light shot from them. They hit the man on both sides of the head and he collapsed into a pile of burning flesh... "NOO!!!" The blissful darkness surrounded Zephenus again. "You have only to look at me, Zephenus Wolvein, and even greater power will be bestowed upon you. Look and see!" His head was already turning by its own accord, his eyes swiveling to see—no! With a vicious effort, he wrenched the hand away from his throat. "Never!" he screamed. THUD!He hit the floor with a bang and lay still for a moment, trying to remember where he was. Then with a groan he remembered. Camp Half-blood. About seven o'clock in the morning. And he had just yelled at the top of his lungs like that? Chiron was certainly going to have a talk with him now

Zephenus stared at the ever-changing ceiling, at the stars that twinkled, as if nothing could ever be wrong. But something was wrong. He reached into his shirt and pulled out the chain around his neck. From the chain hung a symbol--a five-point star. His mother had given it to him on his eighth birthday. "Keep it well," she had said, "It may one day be the turning point in your life." Yeah, right. He didn't know why, but there was something about his mother. She was... distant. He could remember the wall that had been between them, as if she regretted having had him. She had always loved Violet more. With a sigh, he slipped the necklace back under his shirt. Maybe, someday, he would find out why.
