Sawyar tramped towards the cabins from the stables hot, tired, and pissed off. She had just spent the past half an hour clinging to the back of her pegasus as she had flown through the air. Even after Sawyar had given her an apple to make sure she didn't misbehave. Note to self, if you make a deal with the devil, have them hold up their side before you give them anything. But her mood soon began to dissipate as she neared the cabins. And, sure enough, as soon as she past the first cabin she was back to her usual self. You are so lucky you're cute, pony, she sent the mental probe to the pegasus. She got the faint smug feeling radiating of her and Sawyar smiled. Today's agenda was one third over. All she had to do was go and spar and then she would relax until dinner. She hurried to her cabin and located her weapons. She did a quick check over the blades checking that they were sharp before slidding them back into their sheaths. She checked her reflection in the mirror and decided on taking extra time in rebraiding it, since it was a rats nest from the pegasus ride. With that she strapped her swords to her back and tied her belt and knife around her waist. She grabbed her bracers and ran out. Stopping in the middle of the cabins she called out, "Oi! Anyone here?" She started pulling on her leather wrist bracers.

ooc: Sorry if its short.
James wiped his hair as he headed towards the golden cabin that was Apollo's. He had just gone for a swim, and was now heading toward his cabin, before going exploring throughout the camp. After spending a few minutes in his cabin, James decided to carry out his plan of exploring the camp. As usual for ever child of Apollo, James had his bow and quiver full of arrows, both sonic and normal kinds. As he was stepping out, he heard someone asking if anyone was there. He looked towards the middle of the cabin, and noticed that it was a girl that he had never seen before. James put on his usual ''top class smile'' before descending from the steps. Walking toward the mystery girl, he responded. ''Just your friendly neighbourhood archer. By the way, I don't believe we've met.'' he said, still flashing his usual smile.

Sawyar spun around to see the boy that came out of the Apollo cabin. She looked him up and down, but couldn't match his face with any name. Of course that was common in this camp. But she noticed his outfit the most. He wore pants, and a vest. "Aren't you hot in that?" she asked. Sawyar was dressed much more appropriately for the hot weather wearing a green T-shirt and her normal jeans and tennis shoes. "I'm Sawyar, daughter of Posiedon. I'm sorry but I don't know your name. Who are you?" she knelt to lace up her shin guards.

When asked if he was feeling hot, James replied ''Nope, I just got back from a swim, so I'm still feeling pretty cool.''. The girl introduced herself as Sawyar, a daughter of Poseidon. She followed up her introduction by asking him what his name was. James smiled once again, before introducing himself. ''I'm James, one of the newest campers here as well as being a son of Apollo. Judging by the weapons that you have lined up there, I'm guessing you had planned on heading toward our camp's resident arena.'' James exclaimed as he continued looking at his new acquaintance.,

"Ah," Sawyar replied switching to her other leg. Once done with her shin guards she stood back up. "Yeah I was going to the arena. I was looking for a sparring partner. But since you are an Apollo's kid I guess you aren't that proficient in melee fighting. Of course I could be wrong, it's not like that's unusual, and you could be very good with a bladed weapon. But since you aren't carrying one at the current moment I feel like I can concluded that if you do have a short ranged weapon you use it very little," she paused to take a breath and reflect back on what she said. "God, that sounded to much Athen and not enough Posiedon. Oh well," she fussed with her wrist bracers for a bit before turning her full attention back to James. "So where are you going?"

James listened as Sawyer explained that she had been looking for a sparring partner, but since he was Apollo's child, he wouldn't be that proficient in melee fighting. She then went on for a few minutes on how she concluded that even though it was possible that he could be good at sparring, the fact that he was carrying a bow and arrows gave him away. She took a breath, before asking where he was heading. He then said, ''Well, I was drying off from the quick swim I had in the lake earlier, and was heading back there right now. Speaking of that, why don't you go sparring later and join me? Surely someone as good looking as yourself must take some time off the relax.'' he explained, smirking as he talked.

''Well, I was drying off from the quick swim I had in the lake earlier, and was heading back there right now. Speaking of that, why don't you go sparring later and join me? Surely someone as good looking as yourself must take some time off the relax.'' Sawyar raised an eyebrow at that comment. Playboy, she thought, plastering that profile onto him right at that moment. She had seen her fair share of playboys in her schools, mainly jocks, all annonying. But she was going to slack off later so she guessed that it wouldn't hurt to switch things around, even if she'd end up wandering around with him. "Well, I guess it couldn't hurt. Hold up," she returned to her cabin and shed her swords. She kept her knife though, just like always. Sawyar again left the cabin and went back to James. "Alright, lead on," she made a sweeping motion with her hand towards the lake.

James noticed the look, Sawyer gave him when he mentioned that she was good looking. He knew exactly what she was thinking about him. She was probably thinking that he was one of those jocks who always went off boasting about their looks, or their athletic ability or other things that had been placed upon them at birth. To tell the truth, even though he believed he possessed all those qualities, he wasn't as conceited as most people would think. Sure he liked to talk about his athletic ability, or dashing good looks, and sure he really really reaaaaallly liked girls. But despite these things, deep inside he was a really nice guy, its just that most people would jump to conclusions about him. As he finished thinking to himself, he realized that she had returned back to her cabin, had shed her weapons, and had just comeback. She then told him to lead on as she made a sweeping motion with her hand toward the lake. James smiled before beginning a walk back to lake, with Sawyer in tow. After a few minutes of walking, they had reached the lake. Stopping a few centimetres from the shore line, James shed his vest before turning back to Sawyer, ''Ladies first.'' were the simple words he said.

Sawyar followed James to the lake where he stopped and said "Ladies first." She looked over at him. "Chilvery, cute. And here I thought it was dead along with common sense." There was no need for her to get rid of any of her things but she took of her knife anyway. She stepped into the lake a few feet then dove under. She swam to the middle of the lake and sat at the bottom. She watched with mild interest as fish darted around her and niaids went about their business. She spent a short time communicating to the fish, though most of it was jusst senseless stuff, but some had little bits of interesting information. Once that got boring she looked around the floor, seeing what was new and what was old. Not much new, and a ton old, she concluded. Casting a dark look at the sea monster who was wondering if she was a snack she then shot to the surface. There she just relaxed. Slacking off was one of her great talents. Now all she needed was a good book and she'd be content until dinner.

James simply smirked once more when Sawyer explained that she thought chivalry had died at this camp, along with common sense. Although he was unsure of whether to accept her comment as an insult or as an actual fact, James went along with it anyway. He watched as Sawyer walked a few feet into the lake, before diving under the water. Since he knew she was a daughter of Poseidon, James naturally expected her to be an expert at anything involving water. Almost immediately after she dove in, James followed her lead and descended into the cool watery depths. After lazing about for a few minutes, James decided to get some action going. He silently swam, looking for Sawyer before eventually spotting her lazing on the surface. He dove underwater, before coming up from underneath and tickling her.

ooc: Sorry for a bit of powerplaying
Ic: Sawyar was spending her time thinking over various things ranging from her schedule to when she planned to go see her family again. As she mulled over the latter subject she felt the water disturb, but passed it off as the hungry sea serpent. Suddenly there was a quick jab at her sides and then tickling. She shouted in surprise and she arched her back away from the sensation. Reacting on reflex now she spun around and punched downward at the offender, using her powers to make sure she hit it. She felt contact on a place to her fist's left on her water wall. It took her a second to come back and remember that it hadn't been her brother. Again using her powers she brought James to the surface. "By the gods! Never do that ever again unless you like getting hurt! I have an older brother and I've got a habit of hitting anything that scares me. Jeez!" she sank back in the water, rubbing her forehead. Then she realized that she had yet to apologize for hitting him. "Oh," she muttered, a little embarassed,"and sorry for punching you and all. That was still uncalled for even if it was a reflex," she gave a weak smile still embarassed for her overreaction.

ooc: No problem At first, James laughed a little after he surprised and tickled Sawyer, but her reaction was somethign that didn't enlighten him very much. He had been to busy laughing to discover that she tended to punch people who tickled her by surprise. As soon as her fist, connected with his right cheek, he immediately sank into the waves in surprise. As he was sinking, he could feel an invisible force pulling him back to the surface. When he reached, James found out that it was Sawyer who had been using her powers. Still rubbing his cheek, he listened silently as Sawyer apologised for punching him, adding a weak and embarrassed smile with it. James shook his head once, and returned her smile with one of his own. ''You don't have to apologise. I should have thought before surprising you like that. In fact, I'm sorry for surprising you in the first place.''

"Old habits die hard I guess," Sawyar sighed. One that I should hardwire only to work at home, not here, she thought. "Well, alright," she said in the silence that followed. "I'm going to um... go," she pointed down and quickly sank. She had nothing to do other than to feel bad about punching him and absoluty nothing to talk about, so she decided to converse again with the fish. Once that got boring, which didn't take long, she spent her time tinkering with the currents of the lake, shifting them so if you got caught on one it would drag you along like an underwater slide. Just a faster, longer, and crazier one. Of course here and there she had to lengthen and add to a current so it stayed continious, but other then that it was all of the natural currents, just moved. Once satisfied, she moved into it and immediatly zipped along. She laughed as the speed increased as she went in a tight loop along with it. It was, in her opinion, an epic rollercoaster. She followed it around twice before willing a break in the current. She spun out and drifted a bit. Once the lake bed stopped spinning she adjusted the currents back to their original places, sizes, and speeds. She swam to the surface and floated, waiting for her head to comlpetely clear. Well, that was fun, she thought. "Hey James, you should try the slide I made," she called out, still to dizzy to bother looking around.

James nodded his head understandingly when Sawyer explained that old habits dies hard. After she finished speaking, a wave of silence over came the two of them, before she Sawyer decided to break the silence and go back underwater. James once again nodded, before resting on top of the calm surface. As he rested, James occasionally felt shifts in the current of the water, and guessed that it was probably Sawyer toying with the natural state of the ocean. For the next few minutes, James relaxed, before eventually getting bored and trying to find Sawyer. Instead of finding her himself, James was surprised to find Sawyer suddenly appear from the watery depths, explaining that he should try her ''water slide.'' Rubbing the back of his head, James answered, ''Uhh, it's al right. I'll leave all the space and excitement for you. I'm more off a guy who enjoys excitement on the land than off of it.''

James kindly turned down her offer and Sawyar shrugged. Though it was probably a good idea since he couldn't breath underwater. That must suck. Sawyar had always had a natural talent for swimming, of course, and with that a good ability on holding her breath for long periods. Of course only when she had found out who her father was had she known where her abilities came from and then started experimenting with them. She relaxed, staring at the sky. Every once in a while she would create a jet of water to make a rainbow or just shoot a bug. Finally when she realized that time was slipping away and she still hadn't sparred, she decided on leaving. "Well, its been fun, but I got to get to the rest of my schedule. Are you going to stay out here and prune or are you going in? Oh well," she turned in the water and began swimming towards the shore. She could have had a current carry her to shore but if she warmed up out here, then she wouldn't have to do it in the arena. Besides, she needed to not get lazy in her swimming.

Jake turned his head back towards the sky as Sawyer soon joined him at the ocean's surface. At first, when they had been originally talking by the cabins, James could keep a conversation going for a good few minutes. However, when James was in a place where he was not really ''at home'' per say, he usually became quiet and less social. Sawyer eventually broke his train of thought when she explained that she had to be leaving to complete the rest of tasks she had to do on her schedule for the day. She then asked if he was going to stay out here in the water and prune up, or if he was going to head to the shore too. Before he could answer, she rose up and started swimming toward the shoreline. Shrugging to himself, James followed her lead and headed toward the shore. When he reached a few minutes after her, he shook some water out of her hair, before laying down on the soft sand. Remembering his usual self, he spoke. ''Well, I'm going to stay here on the sand for a little bit. I guess I'll see you later..babe.'' he said as he closed his eyes, a smirk plastering his face.

ooc: Sorry it's short
Ic: Sawyar had already buckled her knife back around her waist when James finally made it to shore. She was about to leave when he made the comment "I guess I'll see you later...babe." She frowned at that. But she turned in his direction with a smile, reaching out her power back to the lake. "Babe? I don't think I'm a giant blue ox," she teased. She called a wave to shore and dropped it on him and the sand surrounding him. "Nor am I a famous baseball player," she laughed.

ooc: It's al right. Most of mine have been short too.
James could feel Sawyer frowning after he called her a babe. However, the way she responded didn't surprise him. After a few minutes, he could feel a shadow cast over him, and before he could figure out what was happening, a wave came down upon the area he was laying on. He sat up suddenly in shock, as Sawyer replied that she was neither a giant blue ox or a famous baseball player. James turned his head towards her, a response already in his mouth. ''I'll have you know, those two weren't the kind of babes I was talking about.'' he explained, his smirk once again plastering his face.

James turned towards her. The wave of water hadn't been unexpected, but not as satisfying to her since he was already wet. Darn, she pouted inwardly. She crouched so she was eye level to him. "Hm," she muttered, "I thought for sure that would take care of it. But no, its still on there. You have something there," she pointed to that smirk. Which, in her opinion, was unneeded since she hadn't found any comedy or clever retort in his comment. But she also had a more dry or darker humor then most people. And a smirk typically was meant mainly to frustrate the reciever, or another multiple of emotions from it. "Would you like me to fix that?" she asked in mock innocence, drawing the water from the sand surrounding them and collecting it in a ball to her right. She let the ball hang there for a few moments before sending it back to the lake. "Bad joke," she said standing up.

James continued smirking, as Sawyer crouched toward eye level with him. He knew she was trying to get him to wipe the smirk off his face, but he was having way too much fun to think about doing that now. After a few seconds, Sawyer drew water from the sand, collecting it into a ball in her right hand. She offered to wipe the smirk off herself, before sending it back into the lake. She explained that it was a bad joke before returning to her full height. James slightly chuckled before looking back towards the lake. ''Actually, your one of the most amusing people I've met at this camp.'' he suddenly said.

Sawyar laughed. "Really? Now that's a first for me. I've never been told that I was funny. Everyone used to give me blank stares when I attempted to make a joke," she sat down with a sigh, arms resting on her knees. "It might have been of shock of me making a joke, but it was probably to dark or dry for them. Or they didn't know if they should take me seriously. Man, people don't really know the meaning of sarcasm any more. Pity," she shrugged.

James watched as Sawyer took a seat next to him and explained that most people didn't take her seriously when she attempted to make a joke. She also explained that many people didn't know the meaning of sarcasm any more. ''I guess a lot of people just don't know how to laugh when someone's trying to be funny. Besides, it's easy for me. I've always given a positive response when someone tells me a joke. No matter how sarcastic it is.'' he explained, putting a hand on her shoulder in a supportive way.

"Eh," she shrugged away his hand. "It's fine, just annoying." She sat there for a couple minutes in silence before jerking to her feet. "Well, it's been nice chatting, but there are things to do places to go. I'm sorry, but I really must dash. And please, don't give me a pet name. One, we are just camp mates, and two they are annoying. I hope that you have a good day. Now if you would excuse me," she mocked a court bow and turned towards the woods and the nagging voice of Mooley.

Jake nodded his head once more when Sawyer shrugged his hand away, and looked back towards the lake. They sat in silence for a couple of minutes, before Sawyer jumped to her feet and explained that she needed to be going to other places. But before she left, she told him not to give her any pet names, solely based on the reason that they were both just camp mates and because they were annoying. She gave him a mock court bow before heading out towards the woods. James watched her leave for a few minutes before turning back towards the lake and lying down. ''Girls...'' he muttered as he pulled out shades, placed them on his head and fell asleep.
